Hey gus,

seen a lot on the net about thick rope training.

As i train at home using kettlebells and bodyweight stuff, i think these would be a good addition, however they are uber expensive!!!

Does anyone know where i could find some cheap ones, with the credit crunch and all!!

Cheers

Search ebay for Manilla rope. Alternatively I have found some marine suppliers to be cheaper than sport's stores in the past.

Bringing up an old thread, but what thickness of rope is best for rope climbs, pull ups, whip smashes, pulls etc? Was thinking 38mm but i've also seen some 60mm for about £50 on ebay.

Cheers

60mm?!

I think something like 32-38 would be ideal, whereabout do you buy rope from?

I've only got my climbing rope, and 10mm is a little thin :D

edit: actually ebay seems the cheapest

Yeah the marine stores on eBay are the best prices I've seen.

Found this place yesterday. I gave them a call and they offer a splicing service, with or without the metal inserts on the loop. Pretty good prices from what I have seen and some good products available.

32mm synthetic hemp rope was quoted at 6.02 per metre and 6.76 with the splice. Delivery was quoted at between 8 and 10 pounds depending on length and weight so I may pull the trigger and get an 8m 24mm (3.70 per metres) and an 8m 32mm to work different grips when climbing. Also thinking about getting a 20 m 32mm rope for tug of war, and grip training etc.
