FK.UK games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pahhhhh.... all hot air keyboard warriors.

constructive Mark
Thanks for that

How long has FK been going? Not that long.
How long have we been talking about FK games? maybe a month, two max?
I believe it was suggested as a charity raising exercise at the start also so I would imagine you are not in support of that either?

What about team games? Then you could have a a racing snake, a gorilla, a Crossfit monkey etc per team and have lots of different types of workouts not just Crossfit style events.

It would also take away from the emphasis of having to identify one person who is the "fittest" - which is futile because we'll never be able all to agree what fittest means!

We'll also be able to test attributes like teamwork, leaving no person behind etc.

A team-based event will be fun and fairer I reckon.

Play nice people, don't make me come in there!

PRIVATE Messages are just that, PRIVATE. Airing them in public will just cause more bickering and ill-feeling. Correct protocol would be to report ANY perceived misuse (of the PM system or boards in general) to the moderating team to let us deal with all involved parties in a manner that will best resolve the issue.

if it's totally random then why is anyone picking teams. Names in hat, first pick team 1 second pick team 2, third pick team one etc etc. Everyone has attributes and areas they are weaker on. Deal with what you have. Not that this is ever gonna happen but thought i'd get my 2c worth in.

Why wouldn't it happen? We just about managed to have a summer meet last year. Admittedly a 'games' is more complicated to organise but we could have a meet/games type thing.

I like the idea of names out of a hat.

gubes - yeah sorry i meant about a full games at present. Discussed this some time back and spoke with navel base and loughborough about using their venue. Not interested in the fact it may have been for charity and wanted to charge us full wedge for the privelage of using their facility.

A meet could be ok but trying to get everyone together is a nightmare. Any ideas?

Yeah - who says they are YOUR teams anyway. I want to be captain and i pick myself! As long as there's no running ;)

Well, with the summer meet I got the impression that people didn't go because they didn't feel like it - not because they couldn't make the date. If you set a date early enough, most people will probably be able to go if they want to.

The venue can be more of an issue, given that we are geographically spread out. Obviously I'd prefer it if everyone came down to Cornwall....

I hate to say it but I think London is probably the best bet.

Could we lug some plates/ropes/egg 'n spoons to a park in London/elsewhere in the country and make use of a free outdoor space?

As a fellow "always picked last for football"-er I volunteer to be with Ben and Chuck Norris. We may not emerge as Team Win, but we'll definitely be Team Awesome!

We will always turn to whoever is fit for task. I'm imagining an FK Crystal Maze now...!

Welcome :D haha
Don't worry as far as i'm aware, there's no football, so we'll win. football is functional though, or basketball  up for it Chris?

Think it will be best to 'elect' someone to be 'head of the games' put pen to paper, to choose a suitable place, when, workouts etc or however people are thinking this is going to happen. I nominate myself as ass licker and therefore receive WO scalings.

Sounds like a laugh though.
