I have those said plates, get them from here:
http://www.worldofhe...llsdumbells.htm
They are the Professional Discs. They are also available at Fitness Superstore :
http://www.fitness-s...cs_/3216_p.html
Differences being the first link sell 10kg plates, and below apart from the 3.5kg plates, the second link can provide you with 3.5kg plates. You probably dont need 3.5kg plates but I thought id point it out to you.
I got my plates from World of Health & Leisure, and the prices were pretty reasonable, even with the postage.
Yours,
Beev

The handles have been finished to bare metal and no filler used on the kbell at all.
Any thoughts?

First thing that springs to mind looking at them is "why can't you buy them individually?"

However, I do think that, like anything, you should try before you buy and "clearance" is what you want to be looking for. If the "clearance" is sufficient for yourself on Newitts/Jordan/whoever then that is fine- but if others are using the bells- in your gym or a group of friends, sports team then the manufacturers with the greatest "clearance" should be prioritised to minimise risk of contraindicated technique and promote good form.
On an interesting note; when the bell has plenty of "clearance" it is actually very difficult to contraindicate the wrist and bend it back when in a "rack" position or top of the snatch. Thus promoting correct technique subconsciously and kinetically.
The grades/ratings I give are all personal opinion. Like I said, please feel free to add your own findings/experiences to this thread. I am always open to suggestion and correction if anyone has some good info.
I would like to say that i have a full set of Jordan Kettlebells and the clearence you mentioned in your review i can obtain when training with them. Maybe they have been updated? and dimentions of the handle changed? I am a personal trainer specialise in elite performance and would strongly recommend Jordan for there Kettleblls.

Has anyone used the loadable kettlebells? Sounds messy although versatile.

There should be a discount at WF for FK members so it's worth giving them a call. I'd also give Tony a bell at Absolute Performance (http://www.aperformance.co.uk); he sorted out my last kit purchase and the service and price were second to none.

spoke to wolverson - the items on ebay are already on discount so no additional discount. combo shipping might work out cheaper though. Will also give Tony a call to see what he can do. Do you know which bells it is he carries? it looks a lot like the wolverson bells from the pics.

Jason here from Wolverson, just thought i would mention the following:
FKUK members do get a 15% discount on all kettlebells and sandbags (excluding sale items), this has been on offer for some time but it seems that not everyone takes advantage!
Call our office on 01902 638174 and quote KBFK15.

Hi Jason, I've been looking to add a 32 to my Wolverson set but am thinking of the adjustable as it'd allow some double training too.
Tried the discount code on the site and it flopped - is it still available? Mrs says I can get one for xmas if the price is right......
Oh, been following on Twitter, glad to hear you're feeling better. I got the man-flu in October and am just getting back into my stride. Couldn't shake the cough for ages....
All the best,
Mark

This is my first post on this forum, and I think (hope) I've come to the right place.
On the topic of kettlebells from Wolverson... I'm looking to buy my first kettlebell and only have the money to buy one (for now). I'm looking at either a 16kg, 20kg or 24kg competition bell from Wolverson, but I'm not sure what the right weight to start with it. I have a background in MMA and bodyweight training, but I'm not a huge guy by any means (180cm, 73kgs) though my strength is certainly above 'average' due to the aforementioned training I've done.
Long story short: Which weight should I buy? I've done a lot of reading and got a lot of different answers, so I'm really looking for some consensus amongst people that know.
Many thanks!
PS: Jason from Wolverson recently posted a discount code on this thread, though it no longer seems to work - does anyone know if there is still a discount offered by Wolverson Fitness to FuncKey members?

Hi Macca, firstly, welcome to the world of KBs and secondly, welcome to the forums.
That question is a toughie for anyone, your best bet is to try and get to a class or seminar where you can get some instruction and also judge what size is best for you. I was relatively strong in leg exercise but poor in shoulder strength when I got my first - so the 16kg was light for swings but ok for pressing. So I got the set of 16-20-24 and it was perfect. But don't get me wrong, a 16kg can be a killer - try the Viking Warrior snatch training and you'll see...... ;-p
Whatever your goals with KB's, I'd recommend Wolversons whole heartedly. Top notch service and kit to match the service. I got the 32kg adjustable for my xmas - I contacted Jason on Twitter and did get a discount so it's still "possible". Quality wise the 32 has the best handle of any of my 'bells (all W'sons now apart from my Kettle-stack) and it's going to be my "Snatch test" bell from now on. Couple of minutes to change the weight and I can go from 12-32kg. Win Win Win scenario(can you tell I'm a happy bunny!) It might seem pricey but I got it for not a lot more than a 32kg Comp bell so I can do heavy swings and split it for training with doubles.
Whatever your going to do, get some instruction - and even if you're strong and fit, give your shoulders some time to adapt to the different stresses of prolonged o/head training.
Best regards, Mark.

I ended up going with a 16kg as many posts suggested that a 'light' KB can still be useful no matter how strong you become. Just waiting for it to arrive - hopefully tomorrow!
Glad to be part of the forum!
