Hi folks
Just found this site from a mention on the Crossfit HQ site. Its nice to see there is a UK based site which has more of a British element rather than the "upfront" American style lol.
Have been following the crossfit wods on my own for about a year and just started training at Crossfit Manchester when i can but its quite a journey from where i live in Harrogate so also training at home with some ltd equipment.
Trying to get in top shape for my job as a Fireman so look forward to getting some help and advise from all you folks on here.
Matt

Hi Chet
Thanks for the welcome,
Ive only just started in my job, just finished 3 months basic training and then been on station for 3 months.
I think i lost some fitness whilst training due to having to study and most of the training been very lifting based rather than cardio / metcon. so its time to start back as a beginner and hope that the pain isn't to bad this time lol.

Hello and welcome.

Isn't Manchester a bit of a trek from where you are? Isn't there anyone nearer?

Thanks guys

Nickyhusky-
Thanks mate i know its quite far but i work over in manchester so i tend to drop in after my night shift. im thinking about joing full time though, as the cost of drop in sessions is nearly costing me the same as a full membership would, i have also found the coaching to sort my lifts out such a help and i love the atmosphere there.
But i would love to find somewhere to train closer, i tried crossfiting in my local cannons gym but the equipment is very limited and the only other gym in town is a body building / power lifing gym and its so busy it takes for ever to get near a bar for squats, deads, cleans etc as the lads who compete in strongman are in there for hours at a time. so for training space its either the front garden or just hope a leeds / harrogate box opens soon ;-)
