I currently use castiron plates which arent the best and have been looking around for some solid rubber plates. I have found someone who can supply these...

at £90 for 2x20kg and 2x10kg.
I know it says rubber coated but will these hold up for a while for dropping etc.

They look nice, but if you're going to be dropping them I'd go for solid rubber.
I've just sent for some from powerhouse-fitness. I THINK they're solid rubber, but they were cheap and that's good enough for me! I try not to drop them anyway, so rubber coated would do me.

I have some rubber coated 20s but I don't think I'd like to drop them very often - even outside. They're basically standard cast iron plates with a 1/2" rubber coating on.

all depends what you are dropping them on to.
If it is concrete these will eventually split exposing the iron. If you have rubber flooring (in a garage for eg) then they will be fine. If inside I wouldn't generally drop anything like that unless you had a sturdy platform in which case these would again be fine.
