Just a quick question that has been puzzling me.
Some time back I popped into Decathlon in Thurrock whilst on the way to Dover, and picked up a 1.75m bar and a few discs / plates. This weekend I popped in again and picked up a few more discs.
Whilst looking online to check the weight of the bar I noticed that the Decathlon bars and discs are all listed as 28mm hole rather than 25.4mm / 1 inch.
Is that 2.6mm difference significant? Am I going to find that plates I might get elsewhere aren't going to fit on the bar?
Searching around I notice that some other manufacturers list their discs as 28mm bore (eg Gold Gym), but it is by no means universally listed. Some places just state 'standard' or 1"
