Thread quoted from crossfit board posted by Simon Wheatcroft:

"Today I received the new catalogue from Jordan Free Weights and they now sell solid rubber bumper plates.

Jordan Free Weights w/f/s

I gave them a quick ring and they say they are comparable in quality to the York Bumpers. The prices are not listed on the site but the prices are as follows:

5Kg - £12.74
10Kg - £25.46
15Kg - £38.20
20Kg - £50.92
25Kg - £63.66

These all exclude VAT and delivery, they are also willing to do discounts if you are buying in quantity.

For comparison here are Yorks prices

5Kg - £34.95
10Kg - £49.95
15Kg - £64.95
20Kg - £79.95
25Kg - £94.95

The York prices do include VAT but Jordan still come out cheaper once you add VAT.

Just thought I would let the UK users know."

Just saw this on the CF board. Don't know if this will help anyone out if they are infact the same quality as York then they are a steal at this price.

Thanks for the heads up will mate those are some awesome prices and right when I was thinking about buying.

Whats up with the oly bars. There is nickel and chrome. I think it's down to the plating they use on the bar but is it worth getting the nickel ones for general home use???

I just looked on the Jordan site. It doesn't actually say, but I think the prices are for only 1 plate. The York ones are definitely pairs. If that's true then it's not so good. I put some little plates (1.25 and 2.5 kg) into my basket, and they also wanted to charge me £15 postage. I bought York ones from Gymworld instead - was cheaper.

Negative - York prices as quoted above are for single discs. I should know, I just recently bought 4 pairs of 10kg York bumpers :(

Look forward to seeing some reviews on the Jordan plates

Cheers, kempie

I spoke with Jordan last week about the bumpers. It's definately work ringing them and seeing if they can do you a deal

Ah, just checked. The bumpers are in singles. The little ones I got (which are metal) are in pairs on gymworld but not on jordan, it seems.

Can't afford bumpers atm!
