Charitable link for our wounded.

Help for Hero's
"The idiots are self regarding consumer slaves oblivious to the paradox of their uniform individuality. They sculpt their hair to casual perfection, they wear their waistbands below their balls. They babble into hand-held twit machines about that cool e-mail of the woman being bummed by a wolf. Their cool friend made it. He's an idiot too. Welcome to the age of stupidity, hail the rise of the idiots!"

Charlie Brooker & Chris Morris.

"Don't get hung up on the stopwatch or times, or even weight lifted, think about technique, technique, technique and listening to your body. You will not perform better every session and that is set in stone. Test your self every month keep a written journal not just a forum, a place where you can keep personal notes that you can read to motivate yourself. Don't compare yourself to others when you are working out and likewise do not think that you are already fit as fcuk!!! As someone will always be in front and behind you, ultimate confidence in your abilities yes, but arrogance no, there is a fine line.
But most of all do the things you hate above the things you like or are good at, this will make you a better athlete. Save the things you like for recreational sessions. But ultimately enjoy it, even when you hate it! And finally remember the mind will always give in before the body!"

Here endeth the lesson.

mate if this isn't an excuse for the whole crossfit community to get together for a fundraising day then i don't know what is. Surely we can get our heads together and come up with a day of crossfitesque workouts and little comps. Everyone pays an entry fee and so on.

Andy, that is exactly what I was thinking and the response that I hoped for..... However the UK CF community apart from on here seems to only want to do things as individuals  Fcukers... and if that upsets any of you CF people who are not members on here, but we know you are looking, tuff s***e.... this ones about the men and women of the UK Forces.

So how about a FK.UK WOD set for a date, as I think everyone on here as alot more spirit than alot of the so called CF community.

£5 entry/donation.... and I will arrange for it to go to Help for hero's or we set a date for somewhere central to everyone, prob between the Midlands and the South and we do a mass workout get it on Youtube and the news (have a contact) I will get in touch with charity.

What everyone reckon????????

Odd that about the other UK affiliates - I thought one of the cornerstones of CF was community. Oh well, whatever pleases you. I'm up for a mass workout. Andy Spielberg to direct?

sweet, i'll have a look around the midlands for athletics track etc. This way we could have either a mass WOD or some comps 100m, 200, 400 etc shot put, kettlebells throws whatever or both. make a day of it.

It's on

Don't think I'd be able to make it to Cornwall for this as I'll already be on holiday with the family. If it does take place at SUmmer Camp rather than a different date/place, I'll gladly donate my entry fee anyway. As long as Chet does the workout twice :D :P

Sounds fun. I'll pay a £10 entry fee if I only have to do half the workout ;)

Chet, personally bud i couldn't make it to your summer camp because it was in cornwall and i've just had a baby. it's a 5 hour trip for me at least and if i was only goinhg down for a day then that's 10 hours in the car. Also, for all thew others across the country cornwall is a long trek.

Hope you understand buddy

Andy mate - shame you cant make it bud, but no worries :) Makes sense to have the FK.UK Games more central too, as you say.

Mister C - shame too mate. Don't worry though....looks like Nicky has volunteered for doing the workout twice ;)

Anyway, I'm too fat and unfit to do any workouts at all atm...

*evil laugh

I have three at my disposal with numerous minions attached at each. When you say bars do you mean for drinking or for lifting?

Definitely up for doing something for this charity, it's one I strongly support. (How about an excuse for a FK/H4H tee-shirt - you can never have enough tees! ;) )

If it is decided to be done at the Summer Camp, just peg me down for a donation as I won't be able to make it to that (family vacation) but if a FK/CF UK Games is the plan then I'd be up for entering.
