So did anyone catch the coverage (shoddy as it was this year)?
What did you think when compared to last year?
I thought the event selection was better - nice to see some skills tested in there as well as ability to take a beatdown, but again the question of standards arose. When is an L-sit not an L-sit? Seemes a bent leg variant is fine so long as you can pivot the hips enough to keep the feet off the plates.
Anyone know what happened to Salo?

Loved the open water swim - really threw a curve to some of the athletes.
Great Job by Sam Briggs all weekend and a superb effort in the last events.

The coverage - satellite feed was dead from Friday - Jumbotron had no commentary and the ESPN player was no good outside of the United States.

Didn't cath any of it sadly - hoping to see some vids of the events come out eventually.
Well done Sam Briggs! Awesome and so close to podium.
Apparently Salo took a kick to the heed and burst an eardrum in the swim (sh1t happens).
Ref: standards - I saw similar being discussed on the CF MB's regarding the OHS. it's difficult to get right as some movements are/can be subjective. It's a lot of cash up for grabs which would be even more painful if you were on the raw end of the judging standards.

Looked into website a few times over weekend and the feeds were not working for me. However caught a bit of womens final last night, odd thing was why they did not stagger the start so person who finished first was the winner so standing around wondering who won.
Softball throw hmmmmm
It seems to be an event of breaking the person down, not much grace on show. Prefer watching events or sports where i am looking at the best at that activity. A lot of the athletes can do a lot of work, but they dont move well.
Just my observations.

Ouch - that's a shame for Salo.
I'm hoping they collate the HD footage and host it online sometime soon. I don't think it will be too different from the JumboTron footage (that was the ESPN3 feed when it was on), but it will be nice to have a higer bit-rate and some commentary.
Seemed to be more interest in the whole thing this year on a non-CF scale than previously. The Reebok sponsorhip helps that out I suppose. The wife even saw a tweet from one of the Zest Magazine reporters she follows about it.

Crikey Franz - that's a turn up - i've yet to meet anyone outside of "the circle" who knows what CF even is.

I told the missus to tweet her and get her to come along for a session to see what it's all about. Could be good exposure...
