Which comes first?

In the evening, I'm quite partial to doing some stretching and foam-rolling.
Can anyone suggest which order I should do these in? Will doing them in a particular order have more beneficial effects?

I roll then stretch. I reckon the fibres should be freed out before stretching everything out. This is based on nowt other than feeling, and the reasoning used is probably not applicable to something I really don't fully understand! I usually feel looser if I roll first but this could just be in my head.

Agreed. I roll (foam and lacrosse ball), then do active mobility (bands, distractions etc) then if I feel like it, stretch. I find if I do it in that order I feel "looser" than if I stretch first.

Often I will roll and mobilise, then workout, then stretch. I find this to be the best option as far as how I feel goes.

I'm a stretcher then roller but it does seem to make sense the other way round.

Spoke to a UK Athletics physio and he said makes no difference, its down to personal preference.

I just don't do it. Full range of movement through every exercise gives me all the flexibility I need. And a sports massage every 12 weeks does the job.
