Anyone fancy joining in a January Paleo round again this year to beat away the Christmas excess? Maybe post diet and food log for the month to see how we get on? Doesn't matter if you have tried it before or even currently eat paleo full time anyway.

Funny you should mention that. Based on my hope that Santa will be dropping off a copy of Robb Wolf's book in a couple of weeks, I was thinking about giving paleo a go in January.

I might be up for this.

There is a posibility that the book might turn up mid jan (as I get even older), in which case I would start then instead.

6 days in.
"The idiots are self regarding consumer slaves oblivious to the paradox of their uniform individuality. They sculpt their hair to casual perfection, they wear their waistbands below their balls. They babble into hand-held twit machines about that cool e-mail of the woman being bummed by a wolf. Their cool friend made it. He's an idiot too. Welcome to the age of stupidity, hail the rise of the idiots!"

"Don't get hung up on the stopwatch or times, or even weight lifted, think about technique, technique, technique and listening to your body. You will not perform better every session and that is set in stone. Test your self every month keep a written journal not just a forum, a place where you can keep personal notes that you can read to motivate yourself. Don't compare yourself to others when you are working out and likewise do not think that you are already fit as fcuk!!! As someone will always be in front and behind you, ultimate confidence in your abilities yes, but arrogance no, there is a fine line.
But most of all do the things you hate above the things you like or are good at, this will make you a better athlete. Save the things you like for recreational sessions. But ultimately enjoy it, even when you hate it! And finally remember the mind will always give in before the body!"

Here endeth the lesson.

Hmm, sort of mostly in at the moment.

All bread, breakfast cereals, buscuits, cakes and other grain based food stuffs gone from my diet. Meat fruit and nuts for breakfast every day. Meat & veg pretty much all other meals. (That was the good bit)

One glass (about 400ml) of milk drunk since the new year and cheese a couple of times (the big improvement, but not really paleo)

Probably close to half a dozen energy drinks and a litre or two of coke in the last week or so. (The really bad bit).

There are going to be a lot of somosas in the office at work the week after next too and I have no intention of skipping those.

Will knock the cokes and energy drinks on the head by the weekend and go strict for 30 days post samosa day. :P

14 days in

typical day looks like

#1: lean mince loads of veg stir fry- nuts for breakfast.

#2: post training: can tuna drained mixed with one egg & extra virgin made into a burger and fry - fruit - a few nuts

#3: Deli meat - mixed salad oil/balsamic - few nuts

#4: turkey stir fry & veg plus salad oil/balsamic

#5: pre bed deli meat - t-spn olive oil

feel great perfomance is steadily improving, BF dropping.

i've been following mostly paleo for a few months now, breakfast i usually just have 5 eggs and maybe some bacon

lunch is leftovers from dinner

i did 1 month of strict paleo, but now i'm a little more relaxed and have some dairy. Just found out where to buy raw milk too :D

I have developed a bit of a dark chocolate habit, but I've bought a bag of raw cacao nibs to try and help with this.
