OH! CAMPING

greg and i were planning a 'see if you can survive' camping trip where you go into the wildnerness with just the clothes on our backs and seeing how long we'd survice before having to kill each other or having a brokebac mountain moment. Everyone's welcome, if you can track rabbits and skin them.

Yeah....round here it's more about surviving some of the more weird locals......and there are blimmin rabbits everywhere! You are welcome to try and trap/shoot them but most people just drive over them. ;)

Guys, I've been working on sorting out some exciting activities for us to do on our weekend! Looks like the weather will be quite nice too!

At the moment I am talking to a mate about doing a coasteer on the Saturday. Coasteering is really good fun, it's a mixture of swimming, climbing and cliff jumping!

I am hoping that we can keep the kit all day (wetsuit etc) so it can be used for surfing as well.

I am also looking into rock climbing on the Sunday. A half day would be £25 per person, and a full day would be £40 per person. All kit provided except climbing shoes. Climbing shoes aren't necessary for what you would be doing but if you have your own it would be an advantage.

I need to know whether people would prefer a half day or a full day. Key differences would be that the full day would be a more spectacular venue - probably the sea cliffs at Sennen (near Land's End). I've climbed there before, it's a great venue. You would also learn more on the full day as there would be more time to explain stuff.

The half day will be fun but less involved as there is less time. We would also be climbing somewhere closer to Newquay so that we don't lose time travelling great distances. The venues suggested are fine - I've climbed at them both.

I'd say that the full day was quite good value for money and Sennen is a fantastic place to climb. If you are coming all the way to Cornwall, you might as well climb there!

Anyway, please let me know (today if poss) whether you want to do the climbing and whether you would prefer half or full day, then I can get it booked in.

Cheers!

Good news on the coasteer - my friend says he will do it for free! We only need to hire the kit (wetsuits, helmets etc), which we can have for the whole day. Will prob be £10 each - bargin!

The coasteer will happen early evening due to the tides, but we can pick the gear up whenever.

So...we're back.

It was a seriously good weekend.

Personally, I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Summary, photos, vids etc to come, but in the meantime, here's a pic from the climbing on Sunday:

Hi folks!

Just got back from a holiday in Turkey so haven't had a chance to add my feedback on the summer meet-up.

Well, it was a real pleasure for me to spend a weekend with such positive, athletic, funny and friendly people! Luckily for me, everyone was up for doing my favourite activities - namely surfing and climbing.

We didn't get to do much Crossfit stuff but I think that everyone enjoyed doing something different. Extreme knitting, cider burpees, handstands on the beach, rock climbing, surfing, eating meat....The weather gods smiled on us too. Chet obviously brings sunshine wherever he goes!

Brilliant weekend, one of the highlights of my summer. Thanks guys!
