Found this place last week - http://www.lovethoseshoes.com/ - for a good range of barefoot shoes including VFF and Jingas at reasonable prices and free shipping.

I am in no way affiliated with them, just liked them so figured I'd give them a shout-out.

Use this thread to post any other places you found that are worth looking at.

I read franz post so I thought I would post this:

This is my opinion only: vffs are a rip off!!!

They work yes- I bought them a while ago and they solved a running injury I had by forcing me to adopt the pose style of running, and for that they were worth the money, however I have not worn them for along time. Because I changed my running style I will run like that in anything so I just use my ordinary trainers run in a pose styleeee and my injury has never returned, it is the technique and style not the footwear... Spend the money on a pose coaching session if you need to, or run bearfoot in a sports hall/ grass etc which will make you adopt a pose running style, think of jogging round a swimming pool when on your hols, how do you plant your feet? Toes first I will bet?

But for running on pavements, off rd etc then just get some of these, you oldies will remember them.
Old skool

£3.99 for adults. Or 100 quid plus and they make you do the same thing.

Sorry if you sell them, but it's the truth.

They babble into hand-held twit machines about that cool e-mail of the woman being bummed by a wolf. Their cool friend made it. He's an idiot too. Welcome to the age of stupidity, hail the rise of the idiots!"

"Don't get hung up on the stopwatch or times, or even weight lifted, think about technique, technique, technique and listening to your body. You will not perform better every session and that is set in stone. Test your self every month keep a written journal not just a forum, a place where you can keep personal notes that you can read to motivate yourself. Don't compare yourself to others when you are working out and likewise do not think that you are already fit as fcuk!!! As someone will always be in front and behind you, ultimate confidence in your abilities yes, but arrogance no, there is a fine line.
But most of all do the things you hate above the things you like or are good at, this will make you a better athlete. Save the things you like for recreational sessions. But ultimately enjoy it, even when you hate it! And finally remember the mind will always give in before the body!"

Here endeth the lesson.

two things

firstly I bought a pair from lovethoseshoes around 18months ago. they price was the cheapest I could find, plus they were pretty friendly to deal with.

secondly, yes they're a complete rip off. I love them but paying, £95+ for a moulded piece of rubber and a piece of fabric is crazy. I actually have bought two more pairs since but I got them when I was working in the states. they cost me around £40 with the exchange rate at the time. still expensive for what they are but far easier to swallow.

agree on them being a rip off - I only bought mine as I got them for £40.
I have since found out I probably can't run in them anyway (mortons foot) without quite a bit of remedial work, taping, padding a bit of my foot and possibly surgery. So I'm back to my nike free 3.0's in POSE style.

Have to give mark a dig about POSE running - i thought it was just a fad? ;)

@fk/keyser: yep for £40 quid def would buy another pair, but other than at that kind of price no chance. Seriously I have the 3.99 jobs and they are great infact I prefer them, no p#####g about putting them on etc.

@Fk..... Lol. Mate I wrote something ages ago about adopting the pose styleeeee and how running on toes etc was the way to go. Must be 18 months + now as I have had the vffs over that. I still won't agree with everything.... However from a kinesioligical point def the way... I should have known better but prior couldn't see the wood for the trees. I was a good runner who carried a good amount of muscle, I pulled 200 plus kg and did sub 18 min 3 milers, you couldn't tell me ;-) however the IT band injury made me look at options and the pose styleeeeee solved it (I still didn't look at pose lit etc: few vids of elite runners but I just tinkered with toe strike until it was natural and fitted me) and reading born to run which Chet (who? I hear you ask. That's Chet the fk boss) sent me when he noticed I was looking at options. Thanks Chet:-) and bam jigsaw puzzle solved:-)
But you can adopt the style in any footwear, not just the so called bearfoot shoes!!!!!!

Track some vids of P Ratt and slow them down, look at the footwear and the style and to be honest if it was good enough for her then it certainly is good enough for me!

i think you have to remember that they're fairly niche and specially developed, hence the high price of most 'minimal' shoes. you are paying for the design and manufacture, not the materials.

i think i may look at alternatives, but i definitely would struggle to run in normal shoes now, as the heel is usually too big.

i have a mortons toes, and they fit me ok, i think the new styles look like they would fit even better

there's quite a few alternatives now though, feelmax, merrel, vivo barefoot, inov8, etc.

my problem wasn't fit on the toes
it was pain in my foot that was the problem

@Gregg they are no longer that niche!!! And if they keep adding bits here and there then they will just become TRAINERs with toes. They are a rip off and all they have done is made people buy the snideies off eBay etc for 20 quid I know a fair few people with the fakes and to be honest they are bloody good, rubber is slightly harder.

Since I saw the Merrell Barefoot shoes advertised in Men's Fitness, I've been after a pair. They proved to be a bugger to find, so in the end I Googled where I could get them, and plumped for the first legit-looking site, and went for these guys.
Got to say, the service has been excellent. Got the shoes withing 48 hours, and they threw in a free £12 pair of socks, designed to work with shoes, for free.
So, highly recommended overall. They also sell Inov8s, New Balance Minimus, and those silly Vibrams. :P

D'oh!
Anyway, these are the ones. Not sure I'd spend 12 quid on them, but a very nice freebie.
