I'm looking for some inspiration to train towards a fitness goal or event, ideally something like the strength and power meet of last year but with more of a stamina/cardio based background as well as strength. I'm looking to go into the Army after University, so if there was something that involved a similar style, I would be dead keen on it. I'm not looking for triathlon stuff as I don't have the funds for a bike and don't enjoy plain cardio, but I'm open to all sorts of suggestions...

You could work towards a couple of events to cover all your bases?

e.g. the Strength and Power and something else that hits the stamina/cardio spot too?

I'd say keep a lookout for comps in CF gyms near you. Sounds like what you're looking for.

why not build your own?
I'm not aware of any events which mix a proper endurance aspect in to the event - they tend to cater for one or the other. You could design your own event around which ever endurance event you fancied such as run to a swimming event and back and find obstacls or give yourself mini challenges along the way - or just do something standalone. If you are involved in the forces at uni you might also get access to some bases which often have a trim trail or similar that you could try and beast or take to an extreme (each obstacle x10 or the whole trail x 10). Challenge others around you to take part or to beat you.
just my thoughts
