Hi everyone, old friends and new friends to be.

I am back on the forum after approximately 18 months where I have been only "dipping in" periodically. It's good to be back. I'll give you an update of what I've been doing and what I'm now up to.

Over the last year I have been operating CrossFit Tyneside whilst also personal training Jordan Wallace, whom some of you know/have met at the CF quals/SP Invite. I have also tutored him for a number of qualifications during this time. I have now handed over the "reigns" and CrossFit Tyneside license to Jordan who will operate it and hopefully take it in the right direction in the future. Whilst I will not be directly involved in the day to day running of CFT/Evolution Fitness I would like to wish Jordan all the best for his future success with CrossFit Tyneside.

And what am I doing?

I will be mainly freelance personal training specialising in sports conditioning for team sports athletes which is my area of expertise. I will also be operating a number of educational "Instructor" courses including the GB Kettlebell Courses over weekends using the CrossFit Tyneside venue. I am also selling my bumper plates, matting and fitness equipment all through my new website www.walkerfit.co.uk

By freeing up more time it means that I will be able to contribute more here as part of the functional fitness community and also get back into my own training and possibly start making a few people nervous at various forthcoming events. :D

Anyway- it is good to be back- if anybody would like any more information please feel free to PM me or add your comments below.

Thanks

Ben

5KG : 31.45

These are phospher bronze inserts and 100% natural rubber. And don't break. You have seen what happened to cheap chinese imports at the SP meet- those are the same plates that are also branded "CrossGym"- from the same factory in China. Mine are UK manufactured hence a little more expensive but you know the old saying- buy cheap and pay twice.

Excellent quality rubber matting six foot by four foot too which gives the plates and your floors even more protection.

Haha I was thinking the same! The kid is an animal - 30-odd rounds for Cindy yesterday - sheesh!

Good to see you back on board

Hey guys,

Good to see you back Ben. Just to clarify a small point though bud, the plates used at the S&P meet aren't the same as CrossGym plates. They are a different design. I have CrossGym plates and the 5's are completely different. If you drop any 5kg rubber plate from overhead with a 35kg bar attached numerous times they are going to split.

Mine have been fine and before anyone questions why I am defending them, I am not selling CrossGym bumpers. I am currently reveiwing these bumpers and will write a full and honest review once they have been put through their paces. They have been thrown around a fair bit at the gym already so we'll see what happens.
