4 simultaneous heat events + 2 tough semi-finals + 1 all-out final.

It was always going to be a test of logistics and equipment.

To our delight, Wolverson Fitness has stepped up to the plate (pun intended) and are launching their new range of bumper plates at the Strength and Power Meet! They are bringing down 500kg (yes, half a tonne) of bumper plates of all denominations.

To make the most of this surely we need quality bars to lift with and do these bumpers justice? Indeed, Wolverson are kindly bringing down a couple of 28mm weightlifting bars – 600kg rating with roller bearings. One will be the bar for the deadlift event, the other will be placed in the warm-up area, so plenty of chance to check them out.

To make the most of this, surely we need a quality surface to lift on and do these bars and bumpers justice? Amazingly, Wolverson are building custom lifting platforms specifically for the deadlift and the overhead events at the Strength and Power Meet!

Finally – they are bringing down one 48kg kettlebell (pictured) and four 64kg kettlebells. Beastly ‘bells for sure – but how on earth do they fit into the Meet? What does a 64kg ‘bell even look like?!

We grabbed a few minutes with Jason of Wolverson Fitness at the BodyPower Expo to have a sit down chat about their involvement with BodyPower, the functional fitness community, and the Strength and Power Meet. Check out what he had to say in this video.
