The BodyPower Expo 2010 is billed as the UK’s Premier Fitness Event – and it certainly looks to be an action packed weekend for anyone with an interest in functional fitness. FK.UK will of course be there- as partners to the this year’s event, we will bring you relevant information and coverage relevant before, during and after the event.

With just a few days to go and so much to see, do and learn, we thought we would highlight just some of the things that may well be of interest to the functional fitness athlete.

So here is a brief run down of some of the exciting things coming up this weekend. Keep your eyes peeled over the next few days for profiles of a number of these disciplines in more detail.

Firstly there is the Workout Zone. With an absolute wealth of experience providing classes, demonstrations and challenges using kettlebells, clubbells and bodyweight – just hanging around here is sure to give you both entertainment and education value! Names you may recognise include Steve Cotter, Rannoch Donald, Jonathan Lewis and CJ Swaby to name a few.

For those more inclined to using a barbell, there is the Power Zone. This is playing host to the BPC British bench press championships and deadlift meet, across all male and female weight categories – heavy lifting to inspire all.

Speaking of which – without a doubt one of the major highlights, particular for those involved in the upcoming Strength and Power Meet, will be the BodyPower Strongman Weekend. This is a massive itinerary full of massive strongmen – including challenges, training sessions, Q&A sessions, and head-to-head battles between the likes of British strongmen Mark Felix, Laurence Shahlaei, Terry Hollands and Jimmy Marku! A very exciting line up in terms of both competitors and events.

As if all this wasn’t enough of an attraction to the BodyPower Expo 2010, a number of the guys above will take centre stage again in the Listen and Learn and Supertheatre areas, for seminars and Q&A sessions – including Mariusz Pudzianowski – Multiple World’s Strongest Man winner and impressive MMA talent.
