Do you think active people actually recover quicker from injuries?

I was thinking about it, if the body is used to being 'stressed', repairing and rebuilding all the time, then in a way you're 'recovering from injury' all the time.

Last Saturday it felt like I'd never walk again  very painful knee, yet by Monday I was able to train lightly and walk without any problems. Now, a week later, I'm back to being able to run as part of the met-con!

I'm sure trying to stay up and about rather than just sitting around for days helped a lot. Blood flow maybe?

Or am I talking bollards? This has been known to happen. :D

LOL!

Going all the way back down to cellular level your body will be able to regenerate quicker than those who don't train; diet will always play the most important part as well as the right fluid intake, after all it's what we are predominantly made up of!

Mindset is another part of the jigsaw- if your fit an strong you will look for ways to bounce back- fat, weak and untrained you will fester and become another walking drug cabinet!!

I would always work the joint above and below the injured part to stimulate blood flow and help with regeneration, however sometimes we can't overtake mother nature;-)
