Hi there i'm liking the site been looking for something like this for a while. I train in southend in one of the best gyms in the world. the owner was the winner of mr universe in 1968 and is a really cool chap, the gym is seriously old school now 50 years old, every plate is covered in rust, theres floor boards and loads of black and white pictures of people training through the years. Its awesome!
i've been focusing on strength training for about a year and think i need to work on a more all round fitness level. my running seriously sucks! probably going to start the daily workout as it seems well thought out and has more of a strength element to it than crossfit.
keep up the great work on the site.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Gym sounds like it's a good old-fashioned gym for some good old-fashioned training! Which gym is it?
Nice one on the FK.Daily Workout - start up a training log and we can help you out as you go along
Cheers.

Its called Estuary gym, its very out the way off a side street and in a basement. this is a good thing as it means no idiots train there. I been there for about 6 months after previously being at a fitness first franchise and have never looked back.

I lived in Southend for 18 months (now Chelmsford) and I never knew about that place! I used to train at Academy Fitness, which was a good gym until they got new management and added ladies only sections and took away some of the squat racks.

Always wondered what that gym was like. Like you I also trained at the Fitness First but it was too commercial, crazy busy & at the wrong end of town. Now I train at Evolution in Leigh a short walk from home & cheap at £30 a month.
