It has been a while since I posted my workouts, various reasons contributed to this, however I have been asked if I could start posting again as for some reason a few people find it interesting to see what I have been doing???? Interestingly a CF member from California ;)

Anyway first and foremost I am training for nothing - I have no goals - I am in no events or races etc this year - I don't do anything against the clock or have any concern about the weight that I have lifted - I have no plan or reason for any of the sessions that I am doing, I am making them up each day or taking something that I have come across - I will not be giving any time over to technique practice, I am totally in the arena of the GPP athlete. The only training session outcome that I am looking for is to know that I could not have done it any better at that point in time :)

So the last three training days have looked like this:

Monday:

AM:

Skip@2min
Skip@4min TABATA protocol

Using a 30kg Barbell do 10 reps of an exercise (starting at the beginning of a complete min)
Skip the remaining seconds of the min

repeat 10 times.

Skip 4min.

PM:

Box squats 3 reps: 120kg / 120kg / 130kg / 140kg / 150kg / 160kg

After each set of Box squats complete 3 reps of 43inch box jumps & 5 reps of stiff leg deadlifts using 15kg DB's

Tuesday:

AM:

2min skip

1min skip
100m C2 row
Press-up x10

10 rnds ASFAP

2min skip

PM:

Press & Deads

Jerk Press x3 @: 80kg / 85kg / 87.5kg / 90kg / 80kg

Deadlifts x3 @: 120kg / 140kg / 150kg / 160kg / 170kg

Wed: Rest

Thursday:

AM:

Run 2.5km AFAP
Power clean x30 reps @60kg AFAP
Run 2.5km AFAP

PM:

skip@2min with speed rope AFAP
Skip@1min with Heavy rope AFAP

Total work time 20min.

Any skipping miss = x10 Press-ups to be completed at end: 4 misses = 40 press-ups: Unbroken and very comfortable.

I will do my best to keep upto date.

They babble into hand-held twit machines about that cool e-mail of the woman being bummed by a wolf. Their cool friend made it. He's an idiot too. Welcome to the age of stupidity, hail the rise of the idiots!"

"Don't get hung up on the stopwatch or times, or even weight lifted, think about technique, technique, technique and listening to your body. You will not perform better every session and that is set in stone. Test your self every month keep a written journal not just a forum, a place where you can keep personal notes that you can read to motivate yourself. Don't compare yourself to others when you are working out and likewise do not think that you are already fit as fcuk!!! As someone will always be in front and behind you, ultimate confidence in your abilities yes, but arrogance no, there is a fine line.
But most of all do the things you hate above the things you like or are good at, this will make you a better athlete. Save the things you like for recreational sessions. But ultimately enjoy it, even when you hate it! And finally remember the mind will always give in before the body!"

Mark
how do you approach nutrition when doing 2 a day?

Nutritionally the way I eat on training days is the same if I am gym based whether it is 1-2 or 3 sessions: I also supplement to aid recovery now I am back to 2 - 3 sessions a few days a week.

0630: Supplementation.

0700: Train

0800: Breakfast/Supplements

1045: Pre-training supplements

1130: Train

After session post training supplements

1300: Lunch

1600: Mid afternoon snack (Or Train, snack as soon as session finished)

1800: Snack

2000: Evening meal

2200 Snack

If not gym based ie: going on bike, I will have a meal such as beans on toast with omelette when I get back.

The supplements I use are:

Acetyl L-carnitine
Arginine Ethyl Ester
Branched Chain Amino Acids
N Acetyl L Glutamine
Omega-3
Coenzyme Q10
Vit B
Multi-Vit-min
1000mg Vit c
Impact Whey Isolate

Food wise I am eating loads of fruit & Veg and red meat/Turkey/chicken & Nuts

Rest days or when I am out for dinner etc I eat whatever I want.

Today: Rest day. I ate what I wanted!! Chocolate fudge cake:-)

35 mile cycle: Road bike. Derbyshire dales: FUBAR'D... Had to do slightly less than I had aimed to do as the gearing on the bike started to play up and after 20 min of playing around with it I lost my rag! So I had to turn for home  Still, lots of hills and the sun was out so not all bad.

Here endeth the lesson.
