Hi All

Came across this Website/group recently, having been mooching around for local/UK fitness clubs/info since I moved (back) to Cambridge with my other half last November. Have been doing the 'functional fitness' thing for nearly 3 years, having taken up Crossfit in 2007. Really got into it, burnt myself out on it, then backed off a bit and tried various things; including, Starting Strength, CF-Strength Bias, Gant Grimes program and recently been reading stuff by Dan John.

Presently getting used to having my first (3 week old) baby - Amelie - and looking at fitting in efficient all encompassing workouts around work and nappies.

So will be looking at the various stuff on this site, and hopefully gabbing with some of you on what you/I'm up to.

Bye for now
:)

Hi Woll

Welcome to the forum.

I am reasonably local to Cambridge. Can't give you too many hints on local clubs though. There was a crossfit affiliate that trained out of Huntingdon, but they seem to have disappeared.

British Military Fitness run sessions out of Cambridge and I believe Forces Fit are starting up in Cambridge on Monday (unless some one objects to the council again). Forces Fit do also train out of St Neots, Cambourne and Bedford. Both of these organisations offer military style outdoor training in a group environment. Not exactly Crossfit, but there is some similarity in goals.

If you are in to martial arts there are a bunch of good clubs around Cambridge and area including Cambridge FreeFight which is run by Gez Coville. Gez has occasionally been spotted here on FuncKey.

Regards

You are a MAN... take that Zone diet and throw it back at Sears and tell him "f*** you, I'm eating food without counting it". Embrace the 200+ pound range, bro, hug it...

Cheers

What's the format for doing a training log? Where/how do you set one up?

At the moment I'm going to do a few of Mr Stathams' workouts for a couple of weeks, then try Mr Johns' 21 - 3 week thingy. Anyone else done that - is there a thread somewhere? - Prob easy to find, and me being lazy...

Alright mate, set up a new thread here: http://www.funckey.c...-training-logs/

And then you can use this to help put together the details, and add any other details you like by hand in the editor!

Hey Davie. Has your little bundle turned up yet? Strangely enough, I haven't had as much time to bum around on t'internet since my own arrival. Actually, should I even be bothering asking someone about their newborn on an internet page that isn't baby related?

Anyway, congrats if he/she has arrived... :)
