I bent my trestles again - dumped 80 Kg's from over-head. Held up fairly well considering they have been bashed back in to shape once already.
Laid the wooden dowel over the top so you can see what they used to look like ;)

I was looking at a pair of these. Was a bit worried the legs would be in the way if I used them as squat stands.
Still, probably should get a new pair.......

I was thinking that too Stephen, but I don't think it's a problem. If you have the trestles extended, you can't squat in between them, so you will have to walk out to squat. As long as the trestles are wide enough apart (should be if you are using 7' bar) then you should be able to walk out no problem.

I need something to saw wood on anyway

Stephen - here is a picture of the trestles with my 7' bar:

Plenty of space to walk in and out without the legs getting in the way. Feel pretty sturdy and good for the money.

I'm about 5'9" and if I were any taller, they would be a bit short, but this is not an issue if you get a few bits of 2x4 or something and use them to raise the height.

Hope this helps

Hugh i would get the ones Franz put me onto from ebay,i think they hold over 400kg per one!

I just need to save up for the bigger ones to start my squats at the top! Bottom posistion starts are a bitch like i said but needs must.

Think iv been putting the wrong search term in ebay, powerlifting belts turns up a few results, the lever belt lever belt looks interesting, need to see what p&p is.

Cheers

I've now used my trestles for pressing and squatting, and they are working really well. 250kg is more than I'll ever move without a full cage, so at the price they were and the space they take up to store when folded, they are fantastic. Now I just need to put some money aside for a cheapy non-adjustable plastic set to work as my spotter stands...

Buster
Cheers for the advice. I alredy spent my money on the cheapo plastic saw horses guess they will have to do for now.

been using them since xmas and they have held up fine .

next time i will probably have enough for some squat stands or might get some ones welded up to my spec.

Unless you have you got a time machine handy?

Do you? cause if you do and your holding out on us there will be ass whoopings .!

Oh man, the things I could do with a time machine - just think of all the wasted years on back/bi - chest/tri I could avoid, and that's just exercise related.....

Here is a pic of the trestles with 110kg on them - takes that weight with ease:

And folded in the shed:

Possibly the best £46 I've spent on training equipment...
