nah - got an old golds gym leather rope - not too fast but has held up pretty good for over 2 years.

Hey mate,

I have the full singin and dancin BL rope and they are great, I skip almost daily and I have had no problems, in fact its got faster with use... I have had lots of ropes over the years as I boxed and the rope was staple kit, and the BL rope is one of the best I have ever had. Cost me $60 U.S with postage (£30) Yes I could have got a rope here, but I think it was worth the price tag.

But if you don't want to spend that kind of cash I recommend the Henry Cooper Rope from:
Sugarays.co.uk

Great piece of kit.

Bought 2 BL ropes and they both snapped (shattered in fact) after very minimal use. If you've got one don't hang it over a bar or hook as apparently this creates kinks which may break. That said, I'm not gonna shell out for replacements. My JJB sports special is much nicer to use anyway

Cheers, kempie

I disagree with Kempie, on that, I think the BL rope is a good piece of kit, I have had mine since Jan and have used it virtually every day.

However we can only go by our own experiences with the kit!! Either there has been a bad batch or they are being stored badly, mine when not in use is always in a warm office hanging up, so maybe this has something to do with it??? Folding them up an putting them in a kit bag left in the boot of a cold car etc, will not do any rope any good, but if shelling out that much cash is something you don't want to do, then a good old skool leather rope is still the one to get.

Dear All,

I'm importing Buddy Lee ropes, and they should be available at the end of September.
I'll be stocking Rope masters (black/ red and Turquoise/blue), and juior speeds in blue. Also going to be carrying spare swivel bearings and cords, so if anything does snap or break, you can fix it at a fraction of the price of a new rope.

Both ropes come in at £19.99 +p&p.
Will have BLee's how to book and DVD too.

There will be a reduced rate for CF Affiliates, and an opportunity to resell kit without the need to hold stock.

Email me for a price list if you're interested at brian@strengthpowerspeed.co.uk

If you're experience of trying to get hold of a decent skipping rope is anything like mine, then you'll have half a dozen broken crappy ropes from various weight training and 'boxing' companies hanging around without handles or with broken bearings or snapped cords.
I find it hard to believe they churn out such utter crap. The frustrating bit is they always go during double unders on a timed WOD.
