December 2009 FUBAR.
This one is a true test of psychological strength.
1000 Gold Standard BURPEES
A Revist to an original FUBAR from 2008.
I think this is a great way to end 2009.
You will need to use tactics if you are to finish this

I like to do mad things...but 1000 GS burpees.

What's the secret behind this one then!!! This one would take me literally a few hours!!!

oh well, I like a challenge :)

1000 GS Burpees:

2 hours 36 minutes. of pure pleasure

Not so bothered about the time as I know alot of people will kick my arse at this one.

Just very, very happy I finished it. (gym closed half way through so carried on outside in the rain)

I did face some personnal demons along the way, but battled on.

1st 100 did 5 x 20
All rest did 10, short rest 10.....and even that became agony. Not so much as breathless but it became a personnal struggle to carry on from about the 400 rep marker onwards.

elbows strated to hurt after all the pressups and above the knee from jump squatting half way through.

Hopefully tomorrows a CF rest day so I can attempt the 'lumberjack' WOD

Definately a FUBAR to remember. cheers Mark (I think :D )

That's what FUBAR is all about ;)

Well done bud, really great effort.
"The idiots are self regarding consumer slaves oblivious to the paradox of their uniform individuality. They sculpt their hair to casual perfection, they wear their waistbands below their balls. They babble into hand-held twit machines about that cool e-mail of the woman being bummed by a wolf. Their cool friend made it. He's an idiot too. Welcome to the age of stupidity, hail the rise of the idiots!"

Charlie Brooker & Chris Morris.

"Don't get hung up on the stopwatch or times, or even weight lifted, think about technique, technique, technique and listening to your body. You will not perform better every session and that is set in stone. Test your self every month keep a written journal not just a forum, a place where you can keep personal notes that you can read to motivate yourself. Don't compare yourself to others when you are working out and likewise do not think that you are already fit as fcuk!!! As someone will always be in front and behind you, ultimate confidence in your abilities yes, but arrogance no, there is a fine line.
But most of all do the things you hate above the things you like or are good at, this will make you a better athlete. Save the things you like for recreational sessions. But ultimately enjoy it, even when you hate it! And finally remember the mind will always give in before the body!"

Here endeth the lesson.

Yup, this one sucked ass big time. My back hurts, my knees are shot and my elbows are screwed. First 250 was done in 23 minutes and you are thinking: "hey, maybe this won't be so bad..." Then the pain sets in and each rep becomes a struggle not to quit.

2 hours 29 minutes, 55 seconds to complete in the hotel room. Then went to the pool and just fell in so the cold, cold water could soothe my muscles. Didn't work :(

Never want to do that again (at least not until the next time ;) )

Pretty sure it says in the board rules that you must be at least one of those three to be an FK member ;)
