Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself properly on here after meeting some great guys at the Reading Strength Invitational.

I've been doing Kettlebells for a couple of years and loving it, although after Reading discovered a love for lifting really heavy things, I'm going to start on Rippetoes Starting Strength program and see how it goes.

Also been involved in martial arts for getting on 15 years now, currently kickboxing 2-3 times a week and still getting a kick out of it (ouch. please excuse that awful pun. )

Looking forward to the next event you guys put on, the last was was superb.

Cheers

Daryn

Nice one Razzle,
were you the one wearing the spartan t-shirt and deadlifted 180kg at your first attempt at deadlift?!!!

Nice one, welcome aboard.
Good showing on Saturday, especially for someone that didn't lift much beforehand. Be interested to follow your progress on Starting Strength.

Good to meet you too.
The clubbell is great fun!!
just been playing around with it for know but amazed at how much torquw you can generate with it.
I've had problems with shoulder flexibility and mobility before so I'm hoping that I can find some clubbell exercise to help open up my shoulders.

Hey Daryn,

Great to see you here! You impressed everyone with your out-of-the-blue deadlifting. Very happy to hear you are exploring your strength further. There's more to come, you can be sure!

SS is a great place to start. Have you got the actual book? It's invaluable for technique.

Funny you should say that, I dislocated my left shoulder when I was 9, and the clubbell has really exposed some long-term flexibility and stability issues. Let's hope it helps to rehab them as well as it exposed them.
I can't put the bloody thing down at the moment, my forearms are wrecked!
