My mate is opening a Kick Boxing academy in Wakefield and is interested in me being the strength and conditioning coach. He has a small area for a gym at the moment with plans to extend next year. He has loads of floor space downstairs which will be matted for actual coaching, etc.

My ideas are to use the following equipment
Tyres, Barrels, Sandbags, Sledgehammers, Stones, Kettlebells, Skipping ropes, Rings, med balls, prowler/sled, bands. I already have all this stuff

I am then going to suggest he buys/makes
Power rack, bench, olympic set, dumbells, pull up bars, dips, plyo boxes.

Any other suggestions? I dont want him a lot until it is up and running a la Zach Even Esh 'live of nuts and berries' article.

Youv'e pretty much got everything covered there, what about a rowing machine or two (not too cheap though for a concept 2) and maybe some climbing ropes if the ceiling is high enough?

just a thought

Downstairs is industrial unit so really high ceilings but he is matting most of it for fight/skill training. I hope that I can get to use the area when not busy in conjunction with weights room upstairs. This has false ceiling. i may try to get him to remove it eventually

Rower good idea. I sold one earlier this year. Doh!
