I borrowed a gadget the other week from the Sports Science dept at the local college. You strap it to your arm and it calculates your metabolism, sleep, etc. I saw them wearing similar on Biggest Loser (dont laugh, i like the US version)

Anyway, he text me Saturday and my results show that on training days I burn in the region of 4000kcals and on my rest day 3000kcals.

That shocked me as although i am not an avid calorie counter I dont eat anywhere near that amount. Also, one of my training days was a 15 min WOD and it boosted my calories by 1000kcals that day. Impressive huh?

I would think it depends - how does it work? Is it based on HR and/or heat? what exactly does it measure on your arm?

That's a lot! Can that really be correct?

Not sure how much temperature ries but I certainly feel hotter for a long while after... moreso when I've been able to train regularly. In particular, on mornings, after training, I need to turn the air-con on to cool down in the car when driving to work...as opposed to the heaters...

yeah i usually drive home with the window down, and even then i'm still too warm when i get home

started using the sauna and plunge pool to try and cool down afterwards, but it doesn't seem to make much difference
