Earlier this year a few of us Natural Bodybuilders did a workout/challenge on the same day at the same time, around the country for Charity. I did AMRAP dips in 1 hour.

I was wondering if anyone on here fancied it. We could either all choose our own charities of go along the FGB lines and all donate to the same one, Operation Phoenix style.

Any ideas? Has this already been done before on here? We could get some t shirts printed for us to wear but also to sell for the charity.

No we haven't yet done anything; we keep talking about various things but they never get off the ground (and yes, I know I dropped the ball on the burpee mile one, I'll get back on to that one when I get back from Canada).

Pretty sure you would have willing volunteers here to take part - I'd be in and I'm sure I can drag Tim and Chet over to SPQR to do the same. Might even be able to rope in the university team I coach so we could get some promotion on campus.

you said it...
"Pain is weakness leaving the body"
"If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready"
"The mind always gives out before the body. You’ll pass out before you die."
"We'll be as we are when all the fools around us fade away"
"Successful men and women are very careful in reaching decisions and very persistent and determined in action thereafter."

Cool

Firstly I think we need to decide whether we are choosing one charity to help or whether we all have individuals. My 3 personal choices would either be Children in Need, Cancer Research or Help the Heroes. As a father or 3 whose Grandma died of cancer both those are close to my heart but I also think our soldiers need the help, especially at the moment when all the news is coming out about lack of equipment, etc.

Anyone any views, contacts? I am sure a quick web search will give us contacts quite easily if we choose.

After we decide the Charity we need to think about what we are going to do. Individual challenges or a countrywide FGB style workout.

Then a date to work to then get promoting and organising. I am willing to get the ball rolling if we get a good response.

Mark and myself looked in to this a while back. Was very busy at the time so didn't rteally get off the ground. Also, looked at a few venues (navy bases, athletics centres) and the latter always wanted to charge. Navel base were keen but getting that many people clearance at a base is difficult at present. Can explore a bit more and see what we come up with.
I'm like a goddamn Navy Seal and Olympic gold medalist wrapped in a f***ing suit of body armour. I'm f***ing elite.

I am going to bite the bullet and get this sorted straight after Christmas to maybe done in Feb/March time. That gives time to train for the specific event but not too long to go off the idea.

I am also going to shortlist 3 charities to choose from and each person can pick one.

In the meantime I would like the people defo fancying the challenge and what you intend to do.

The events must be witnessed and preferably filmed for youtube, etc.

Please reply to this post or send me private message with your interest, your personal challenge and charity of choice.
My suggested charities are
1) Help the Heroes
2) NSPCC
3) any local charity of your choice.

As much publicity in each area needed so anyone who has contacts with local press, etc should contact them early next year.

I would like the names, challenge and charity chosen before Christmas please. I can then get things organised for the New Year to start training and getting sponsors.

Lets make a difference

John

PS, as my back flip is not progressing as I thought I am thinking of my own challenge...
