"Don't get hung up on the stopwatch or times, or even weight lifted, think about technique, technique, technique and listening to your body. You will not perform better every session and that is set in stone. Test your self every month keep a written journal not just a forum, a place where you can keep personal notes that you can read to motivate yourself. Don't compare yourself to others when you are working out and likewise do not think that you are already fit as fcuk!!! As someone will always be in front and behind you, ultimate confidence in your abilities yes, but arrogance no, there is a fine line.
But most of all do the things you hate above the things you like or are good at, this will make you a better athlete. Save the things you like for recreational sessions. But ultimately enjoy it, even when you hate it! And finally remember the mind will always give in before the body!"
Here endeth the lesson.

Cool mate.
Probably best to give Mark a shout both so he has an idea of numbers and also can keep you in the loop
But I'm guessing you've done that already

Sorry to thread hijack - but are you based in Essex? I'm currently in Southend, soon to move to Chelmsford (April-ish)
I'd be interested in going to this, but it's a bit far. I think crossfit London do a BWLA course too, which I may look into.
I was lucky enough to get a free lesson from the oly lifting secretary in my area recently... It's great to get proper tuition to correct any faults in technique, especially on the oly lifts, as they are complex lifts.

Yeah...CrossFit London do a Oly Lifting Masterclass - I've been to it. Its very good - but over far too quickly
Agree 100% on the proper tuition for the Oly Lifts.

Anyone staying overnight there, btw? I'm vaguely wondering about heading up to Lockerbie for the kb games thing (to watch, not compete! I did some snatches with the 16 last week - they're hard! So much harder than 12s!), but not sure if that's too ambitious.
If I'm not doing that, I guess I'll just head home again on the Sat eve. Anyone else worked out their plans?

I am toying with the idea of flying down (in a plane of course!)
What would be the best airport to fly into, do you think?

Birmingham would be your best best. I could pick you up from there. Or Coventry or East Midlands, depending on when you arrived. B'ham's on the way, but if you had to come the day before, any of them would do.
I've just looked where Lilleshall is on a map; it's near Newport, so not nearly as far up as I imagined. Which makes me less inclined to head north afterwards, tbh. Unless there was a gang of us going, then it would be fun...?
