I'll need to mark out 50 meters somewhere, otherwise the treadmill speeding up and slowing down could ruin my times.

Yes, this is definitely one for outdoors. Basically I thought it'd be an interesting way of doing 5km... and will probably produce some mental times.

I'll get down the park and do it if you like! Provided my grandpa can operate the video mode on my phone.

I'll try and get it in on tuesday, and post a video of the first couple.

...and the last couple as well, for comparison purposes!

What is the rest period between sprints or is it whatever you need? Are you just timing the sprint sections or all together. Could do both i suppose, workload = how fast you have sprinted 5k and then do an overall time as well. Might give this a go, sounds cool

I know that i'd struggle to manage 5k in one go as fast as 19 minutes... so i'd be interested to compare that to:

a ) the total running time, rests removed

B ) the total workout time including rests

I'll almost certainly need someone else to time me though, to make it accurate. I can time the total workout time on my Nike+, I just need someone with a stopwatch to cover my individual splits. I'll either get chet or my grandpa.

I'd be happy to help you with this mate.

Andy - just to clarify - spoke to Paul about this last night, and he means do the sprints AFAP, nae specified rest in between sprints :)
