Alright folks,

We have been in contact with the folk at Rogue Fitness - and are currently sizing up, literally, the possibility and logistics of putting a consolidated order into them. Check out the website at http://www.roguefitness.com . Your list for Santa will double in size at least ;)

Still in very early stages, but wanted to put this post up in order to see what gauge interest. Of course, the larger the order, the better for all in terms of obtaining better prices on both the goods and shipping. The further down the line we get, the more of an idea we will have with regards to the specifics in terms of cost, but of course we need to have a rough idea of volume of order before being able to start to narrow that down.

At this stage it is just a concept. Whether this actually goes ahead or not depends entirely on the response. Please spread the word and link to this thread if you know other trainers/trainees in the UK that would be interested.
(Thread link: http://www.funckey.c...showtopic=1654)

So...

Please post up if you are interested in being in on this. It's not a commitment to anything of course, but please only post up if you would actually pay serious consideration to this. There is little point in having loads of people say they are interested with only a few actually prepared to put their money where their mouth is. Conversely, if you are seriously interested - post up! So we can get a realistic idea of the size of order we are looking at.

You can also PM me if you would rather.

Cheers

I am trying to persuade Total Fitness to take on board a Functional training package both class format and 1-1 from the PT's.

If they go for it, I may be able to persuade them to purchase some basic stuff. The crossfit packages look interesting.

I may be interested, but probably only for some small items.

Count me in. Any of the members here interested in a collective order of bumper plates for you all?
Would probably reduce cost...

OK - I have some favourable prices from Rogue :)

Am currently factoring in all costs to each item - i.e. shipping, customs etc in order to come up with a final price for each item for you guys.

In the meantime if anyone is interested in specific items, let me know and I will get prices to you.

Who else wants in on this?

Hi Chet,
Interested in the York Quad Grip Olympic plates, the 45lbs ones. I might order them depending on how much cheaper they are than buying them over here when shipping/customs is taken into account.
Also the hopper deck, and maybe one or two t shirts.

Also, how would this work, would it all be shipped to you, and then you would post it to us? Or would Rogue send out all the different items individually?

Cheers

Pretty sure Chet has a few hopper decks in stock for sale already.

And yes, it would be shipped to one UK address on a pallet to save on shipping then onward delivery would be arranged from there.

Cool, thanks.

Chet, do you have hopper decks, or any news on the prices?

Cheers,

I would be interested in the Rogue bar and possibly some Hi-Temp bumpers (45lbx4, 35lbx2, 25lbx2) and maybe even some York Legacy plates (10lbx2, 5lbx2, 2.5lbx2).

It all depends on the price. I assume we need to pay VAT on everything including shipping? This has been my experience when imported Do-Wins from the U.S previously. I also had to pay a fixed fee to the UK onward shipper for collecting the VAT and storing the items while they were waiting for them to be cleared.

Update:

We've calculated conservative prices on items - using costs and percentages that are the most that we would pay.

Now looking to see if we can be more specific with the Customs costs - trying to sort answers and options with C+E.

Also working out 'onwards shipping' options.

And of course this is all dependant on whether we get the quantity of order to make this work!

Hi,

I'd probably be interested in a men's Burgener & Rippetoe bar, again depending on the overall cost being reasonable.

Cheers,
Nick.

Thanks for that Chet - been lurking for long enough, thought I might as well post :)

I'm not being impatient, but do you have any rough timeline on when the order would be placed and how long it'd be likely to arrive? I only ask because I'm actually trying to decide between the B&R bar, a Pendlay bar, and a York bar, and timescales might influence which one I go for (the B&R is probably winning, but if it's going to take a long time I might have to go with one of the others).

Thanks again,
Nick.

Ha, nice one. You could continue the trend, and put up a few words int he intro section telling us a wee bit about yourself :)

TBH mate if timescales are of the essence I would probabaly say to go for one of the others.

Assessing the feasibility of the order, ordering, shipping, onward shipping is not likely to be a quick process I'm afraid!
