Andrew Stemler has recently made an outdoor pull-up structure:

I've got some scaffolding in the garden: 4 x 8-foot lengths, plus one 5-footer along the top, and 4 clamps to hold it all in place. Bought it for £30 off the guy who was putting scaffolding up on my house at the time.
Also got a 10-foot scaffold plank, cut up and turned into a wall ball target strapped to the side.
Can't get the damn photo to work, but the scaffolding's just assembled as an A-frame.
Maximise your training and minimise the bullshit.

i was going to make one using some 4x4 put into deep fence posts, possibly cemented in, with a pipe going through the top

other alternatives are running one between an alleyway, or between a garage and wall.

you might be able to use wires to stop it moving, or some heavy weights at the bottom, depends how aggressive your kip is really ;)

Hi

Been thinking about this some more.

I'm now planning to erect a kind of lean to shed (http://www.penndutchstructures.com/web%20site%20pics2/014sm.JPG) smaller than this obviously! and contact some local welders to fit a bar between the posts at the front, means i can work out even when it's crappy weathr, i will post pics when it's done.
