"The idiots are self regarding consumer slaves oblivious to the paradox of their uniform individuality. They sculpt their hair to casual perfection, they wear their waistbands below their balls. They babble into hand-held twit machines about that cool e-mail of the woman being bummed by a wolf. Their cool friend made it. He's an idiot too. Welcome to the age of stupidity, hail the rise of the idiots!"
Charlie Brooker & Chris Morris.
"Don't get hung up on the stopwatch or times, or even weight lifted, think about technique, technique, technique and listening to your body. You will not perform better every session and that is set in stone. Test your self every month keep a written journal not just a forum, a place where you can keep personal notes that you can read to motivate yourself. Don't compare yourself to others when you are working out and likewise do not think that you are already fit as fcuk!!! As someone will always be in front and behind you, ultimate confidence in your abilities yes, but arrogance no, there is a fine line.
But most of all do the things you hate above the things you like or are good at, this will make you a better athlete. Save the things you like for recreational sessions. But ultimately enjoy it, even when you hate it! And finally remember the mind will always give in before the body!"
Here endeth the lesson.

Made me smile..........given all the talk in the present climate about functional training...complex moves over isolation moves; here's a man who know his stuff......and he is training for a body buidling competition [mentioned at the end of part II].......made me smile at the irony.
I know, each person trains for their own agenda, their own goals I just smiled at the irony.
There are those out there who are convinced 'Mirror Muscles' are the only thing worth training for, whilst others are all about [and excuse the quote marks] "functional Training"..........Me? I think a person should train for whatever purpose they want, whether it is to look good on the beach in a pair of tanga briefs or whether it is a day's yomp in the mountains with a pack on the back, or a fun filled paddle down a gnarly class 3 / 4 river with a beer and burger at the end of the day [I'm sure I read somewhere that a burger was zone friendly!!]
.
So, cheers bud for giving the link, an interesting chap for sure and a great attitude for training [loved the expression You'll pass out before you die...and then realised feck me that's true
].....now where are my chains???
Have a great one

Superb. I am getting back into Rugby league Strength and Conditioning and am looking at the gridiron guys. They know their stuff. I am going to look into this guy.
Does he have any books, etc? I cant find a website for him. Just the Pittsburgh Panthers site.

"Ya gotta either survive the workout - or conquer it. I have too many survivors and not enough conquerors at the moment."
Like that.
