Here's a fun session:

100 dead lifts of your own body weight for time.

Scaling: Lift a percentage of your BW; say 75%. Post your weight (and percentage) with your time.

Haha, why not!

I think I'll regret this one.

I'm off to down a packet of DietTrim and some laxatives.

I wonder if I can get some last minute liposuction.... Or maybe trim off an unwanted limb. How much does your head weigh? 5kg?

It's very unimpressive. Several people have told me that.

Not a chance! I can barely squat my BW for 8-10 reps for a single set!

You must be kidding. I'll do 10 x BW DLs next time I have a DL sesh. Maybe.

Now, see, this is one of my problems with the CF obsession with time. I'm actually being serious here for a change. Let's say I do 100 DLs (I know it's a stretch of the imagination, but just try)... I could pretty much guarantee that if I'm trying to do them for time, my form will not be as good as it should.

It is of course quicker if you drop the bar quickly after you've lifted it... but I'd rather put it down slowly and with better form. And if that means I do fewer reps, well, that's ok.

Some things are suited to doing for time, and some just aren't imvho.

IMO...

Bad form is not an option.

Personally, I'm not prepared in this challenge or any other to knowingly sacrifice my form for want of a better time.

Yes, if doing this for time, I agree that your form will suffer to an degree - but this can be limited.

IMHO a rep done with questionalble form doesnt count.

Oh dear. In that case I only did 5 or 6 rounds of the pullup WOD then :(

So, what's the point of doing it for time, exactly? I know it's just a fun challenge, but I mean generally as well. I just don't get the time thing. Running, rowing etc, fair enough, but DLs??

A fair point, but a CF'r would reply with something like: "You should never substitute form for time. When we set out sessions 'for time' we presume that the individual will do full and complete reps".

I don't intend to go mental and knacker myself out after 30 reps. It's a test of endurance so pacing is critical.

Why not though? I don't care if I'm beaten by miles. I'm just going to enjoy doing it.
