Hello All,

Found this forum after watching the "Burpee Mile" video on CrossFit and googling it.

Signed up and had a quick look at the challenge threads. Had a go at Chet and Kempies "Double Under" challenge and although I can skip I've never tried multiple double unders before so was happy to hit 18.

The "burpee mile" doesn't look too difficult, but after having a quick mess about go on Tuesday where I managed 57 seconds of burpees I decided it was "too" hard.

Managed 3 minutes on Wednesday and today I did 200 meters and it took me 25:24. That is a ridiculous amount of time, if I was to continue that it would take me nearly 3 and a half hours!!!!!

I wouldn't really call myself fit or strong.

In the past I have been pretty fit or reasonably strong but never at the same time.

I used to do Tae Kwon Do at a high level and was probably at my overall fittest then (over 10 years ago) and I was really flexible as well.

Since then I had a brief fling with triathlons, did IM lanzarote 2004 (12:38:08)
But mostly I've been road running and last year was at my fastest.
PBs - 5k 17:25 - 5 mile 29:40 - 10k 36:47 - 10 mile 58:59 - 1/2 1:19:49 -mara 2:55:55

I trained once at CrossFit Manchester (Stockport)

I'll be honest I am totally lacking direction at the moment and I'm just messing about with stuff.

Thank you,

marshallini.

Welcome.
Like Marcus said, the daily WOD is good enough for most folks to get in good shape and will give you some direction to your training. Others here do their own thing and have some excellent programming going on so you might find some inspiration there.

Either way, if you need help or opinion, just ask, most folk are only too pleased to help out.

welcome,
you are in a good place for supported direction finding.
I am doing my first tri this year (London Oly and two warm up sprints in June) so I'm sure I could learn some things from you as well.
"Pain is weakness leaving the body"
"If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready"
"The mind always gives out before the body. You’ll pass out before you die."
"We'll be as we are when all the fools around us fade away"
"Successful men and women are very careful in reaching decisions and very persistent and determined in action thereafter."

hey buddy, welcome. ask questions, post workouts and steel other peoples. That's what it's all about.

Enjoy!
