Just got this from a friend of mine. He is the events Officer for the Elizabeth Finn charity, which is little known and does some good work for people in the UK who worked hard but through no fault of their own find themselves homeless or poverty stricken. He has some spaces available in the BUPA 10 K and wondered if I knew any one who would like to run it for them.

basically I have 30 guaranteed places for the Bupa 10K on Monday May 25th (Yes, a monday!). The applications are now closed to the public, so the only way to gain entry is through a charity. Those running will be the first to try the official London 2012 marathon route, so in 3 years time you can sit at home all smug!

Attached is an application form and a bit of blurb about my charity. Essentially though,we help ex-professionals that have contributed to society and now find that they need help themselves - due to a variety of circumstances including personal tragedy, illness, inadequate pension provision, etc. I've set a sponsorship target of £350 per place, but to be honest, as long as people make an effort, we won't be sending people round with baseball bats or anything! :)

If anyone's interested just get them to call me on the number below, or get them to email me and I'll mail an application form and more info.

Cheers mate,
D

I put the documents on a shared drive which can be found here and here (both WFS).

If anyone is up for raising some money for these guys and fancies a gentle stroll around the 2012 marathon course, let me know and I will sort it out.

Nice. We'll have to arrange a meet up at the start (or finish) line. You running for a charity?
