Does anyone have a recommendation on a decent pair of spotter stands for squatting (and bench in the garage gym)? I would love a pair of the Ironmind Pillars of Power but at the cost with international shipping I can't justify it. Argos have the Marcy safety stands but they only go up to about 100Kg so I would be over that already and the nly other type I have been able to find is the Bodymax CF308 which tops out at 115Kgs.

I would be looking for something that could conceivably hold 150 (or more if I improve as much as I hope) so does anyone have any recommendations or had their own made?

may not be exactly what you're after, but I have and would heartily reccomend these:

"Pain is weakness leaving the body"
"If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready"
"The mind always gives out before the body. You’ll pass out before you die."
"We'll be as we are when all the fools around us fade away"
"Successful men and women are very careful in reaching decisions and very persistent and determined in action thereafter."

Thanks.
I have these squat stands (or more accurately I will be picking them up when Phil gets back from the US) so I just need the catchers to go with them.

If you aren't too worried about looks then you could also consider some Builders Trestles.

Cleared out the garage this morning and made room for the squat stands and trestles. Going to be nice to workout comfortably at home.

Hi

I was trolling the posts and cam across this, i really like the look and the price of those squat stands from amazon, was just wondering do the catchers extend out? They look really close to the rack so if you stepped too far back you wouldn't be able to dump the bar on them if you couldn't get up.

No, they are a fixed length. Fine for bench press catchers, but not so good for squats as you said (unless you squat REALLY close to the stands!).
