FUBAR 2009 Sessions that test your mind as well as your body.

FUBAR #1 2009

My session from the 31/01/09.

I know how much most of you hate running, so that is why you should do it!!!


x5 1mile repeats.

Jog 2 mile warm-up. 20min-ish

Then using a flat straight 1 mile road do:

x1 mile best effort. Rest period is time taken for mile.

Repeat x5.

Jog 2 mile cooldown.

Test your self every month keep a written journal not just a forum, a place where you can keep personal notes that you can read to motivate yourself. Don't compare yourself to others when you are working out and likewise do not think that you are already fit as fcuk!!! As someone will always be in front and behind you, ultimate confidence in your abilities yes, but arrogance no, there is a fine line.
But most of all do the things you hate above the things you like or are good at, this will make you a better athlete. Save the things you like for recreational sessions. But ultimately enjoy it, even when you hate it! And finally remember the mind will always give in before the body!"

Brutal. This would take me all day. 20 minutes for the mile and a nice 20 minute rest.

aah, i see what you've done there! :P Now, you know i'm Mr Crossfit. Functional fitness is what i'm about and working on greater power output I feel this would be unfunctional for me. The distance at this stage is ever so slightly detrimental to my power development. As you know sprinting a mile for me is not really a big deal, 4? a little tough. It's the 5th Mile that I need to work on. At this stage I will keep this modality to a little 5k run from time to time and the shorter, faster paced runs for the WODs. Being the supreme athlete I am it shouldn't take long before I am sprinting these distances with half the rest periods. ;)
