Hello all you lot,

Just really thought it was time I got chatting with you guys. I am a Physiotherapist by trade but have been specialising in Functional Training and Corrective Exercise for 10 years now. I love all the chat and links coming from this forum... great to see so many minds are coming together, I started writing courses and providing resources about FT years ago, and it was pretty lonely back then. I am sure a couple may have been on our courses.

Anyway, one for the plug box are my websites at www.physical-solutions.co.uk and www.physicalgolf.co.uk
You'll find The Functional Training Resource on there as well which I am always adding to and developing.

One thing we still don't see so much talk about in the harder core end of FT is Movement Screening. I push it from my end and I think it's soemthing we could all take further.

Cheers Guys

Bob Wood

Hello Bob

You still racing those silly little cars....

Mark (Lotus Elise)

Oh yeah just a note to everyone, these two were really swimming against the tide when they turned up... If they had been in the USA they would be really well known by now!!!!! These were the first two guys that I came across with the same thought process. Would have been around 2002 /03. Good guys, who know their stuff.
"The idiots are self regarding consumer slaves oblivious to the paradox of their uniform individuality. They sculpt their hair to casual perfection, they wear their waistbands below their balls. They babble into hand-held twit machines about that cool e-mail of the woman being bummed by a wolf. Their cool friend made it. He's an idiot too. Welcome to the age of stupidity, hail the rise of the idiots!"

Charlie Brooker & Chris Morris.

"Don't get hung up on the stopwatch or times, or even weight lifted, think about technique, technique, technique and listening to your body. You will not perform better every session and that is set in stone. Test your self every month keep a written journal not just a forum, a place where you can keep personal notes that you can read to motivate yourself. Don't compare yourself to others when you are working out and likewise do not think that you are already fit as fcuk!!! As someone will always be in front and behind you, ultimate confidence in your abilities yes, but arrogance no, there is a fine line.
But most of all do the things you hate above the things you like or are good at, this will make you a better athlete. Save the things you like for recreational sessions. But ultimately enjoy it, even when you hate it! And finally remember the mind will always give in before the body!"

Here endeth the lesson.

Hey good to hear from you Mark and thanks for the kind words.

Now 2 things strike me.
1) The Box and your sites look great... superb stuff and well done there.
2) You look real skinny these days. In fact you look more like me, which is testament to some decent training and less dozen egg milk shakes. (only kidding)

I'm over in Derby every month with some work so I'll ring you.

Yeah and I'm still doing some very amateur racing and still really crap... been through about 9 cars and cant get any of them to go round a corner!

My mobile is 07816 854 828
